My name is Temís and I founded Volver Workshop in October 2020.
Prior to 2020, I was living in Barcelona, Spain, where I trained with master shoemaker Carlos Piñol Palacios and learned the essentials of pattern making, lasting and fit. I owe my beginnings in shoemaking to the wonderful, creative community in and around Barcelona for their guidance and support.
After years of working globally in the modern fashion industry, I now find myself focusing on making things slowly, small scale and on translating the colorful diversity within my Puerto Rican culture here in New York, into my craft.
I design, develop and assemble everything out of a private workshop space in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. All day long (and sometimes, well into the night), I carefully select skins, experiment with new materials and look for more sustainable practices to apply to my shoemaking.
