About

Volver Workshop
My name is Temís and I founded Volver Workshop in 2019 (right before the pandemic).
While living in Barcelona, Spain, I trained with master shoemaker Carlos Piñol Palacios, and learned the essentials of pattern making, lasting and fit. I owe my beginnings in shoemaking to the wonderful, creative community in and around Barcelona for their guidance and support. To this day, I still use leather qualities from a family operated manufacturer in the town of Igualada, Spain.
After years of working globally in the modern fashion industry, I find myself focusing on making things slowly, small scale and on translating the colorful, edginess of my Puerto Rican culture here in New York into my craft.
As of September 2020, I design, develop and assemble everything out of a private workshop space in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. All day long (and sometimes, well into the night), I carefully select skins, experiment with new materials and look for more sustainable practices to apply to my shoemaking.
